"The FSTP program/courses offers all the necessary tools to bridge the gap from academia to pharma. As a recent Ph.D graduate with purely academic work experience, FSTP lessons provided in-depth training and evaluation to ensure I was equipped/knowledgeable for the MSL role. I was confident in my FSTP work experience during the interview process and landed the perfect first MSL job. Furthermore, the team at FSTP provides extremely effective resume building and telephone coaching – preparing you for the interview process. On top of all that, there is continued training to help keep you on track once you are hired as an MSL. I am so excited to begin my journey as an MSL and grateful for the lifelong resources offered at the FSTP team. Let’s go!"

"I’ve always wanted to work in the pharmaceutical industry but we know how competitive it can be to get in!  In 2020 when I was ready to switch from clinical practice into industry I reached out to a couple of my friends in industry to get their thoughts on what roles fit my resume, experience and personality best. These individuals are in director level positions and they overwhelming said the MSL role and one even sent me a link to the FSTP website to learn more about the role. I immediately signed up for the platinum tier and saw this as a great investment. I loved how they had lifetime access, promised to update content and the team were very responsive. They have a lot of great resources, insights on updating your LinkedIn to attract recruiters, they help with resume writing, interview prep, and presentation review and prep. Having access to someone who is knowledgeable and cares for your success. I landed my first MSL role within months of when I put myself out there! The recruiters and hiring managers loved that I took a training course to prepare me for the role and the people on my interview panel had amazing things to say about my presentation. I recently transitioned into a new MSL role with another top company and product and the foundation laid from the FSTP course really helped!"

"The FSTP training course was very instrumental in landing my first MSL role. The FSTP team provided me with the skills and knowledge required for success as a Medical Affairs professional. The meetings and conversations with my coach were valuable in guiding me through the program and interview process. “The FSTP training was very helpful to help me understand the MSL role thoroughly and provided me with a strong basis of medical language that I needed for my interviews (and my future medical role). Thanks to the comprehensive FSTP MSL learning platform, I was able to communicate like a real medical person in my interviews. I felt comfortable with all the questions they asked me, and therefore I came across confident and knowledgeable and that led me to being offered a great job working at Havas Health and You, NYC as an Associate Medical Director. The FSTP program was significant in my journey to land my first MSL role. The course not only advanced my understanding of the MSL role substantially but also helped me prepare for my interviews. The 1:1 coaching calls by the FSTP team were extremely helpful in preparation for my final round of interviews. All the recommendations that I have received during the course were essential in landing my MSL dream job. The other great aspect of the course is that the program doesn’t have an expiration date so I was able to take the modules and listen to the videos at the pace that worked the best for me. Huge thanks to everyone involved who helped me land my MSL dream job!"

"The MSL certification program with FSTP provided the missing link in my education, training and professional background that helped me make a professional transition to a MSL role from a clinical background. When looking to make a career transition, one of the most challenging things is to learn how to speak the language of the new position, to tailor your qualifications to the MSL role, and to prepare for the interview process. I had spent many months cold applying for MSL positions with no success. After applying the skills I learned in the MSL program, I changed the way I networked, revised my resume, and started gaining more traction in my applications. The content of the MSL program was easy to follow, well presented, comprehensive and very accessible regardless of your background. The coaching conversations with the FSTP team were invaluable, and really helped solidify my approach and search. I have recommended the FSTP program to colleagues looking to make a similar career transition."

"The FSTP program was instrumental in my journey to land my first MSL position. Prior to joining FSTP, I was a medical communications manager at a pharmaceutical company and before that, I was a postdoctoral fellow doing basic research. My goal was to become an MSL, but I didn't know how to prepare for all the interviews associated with the hiring process as I had never done the job before. The FSTP program helped me understand what MSLs do and how to find KOLs, as well as important aspects of compliance associated with the role. In addition, the program provided me with a lot of common interview questions, resources for upskilling in a therapeutic area, and many examples of resumes and clinical presentations, which were extremely helpful when I was preparing for my final interview. The program is self-paced, so I was able to complete it at a pace that worked for me. Another invaluable resource was the coaching calls. I can't say enough about how helpful those calls were. All the advice I received for my interview turned out to be exactly what the interviewers were expecting to hear and helped me make a great impression during my interviews. If you are serious about getting your first MSL job, I highly recommend the FSTP program!"

"Before I signed up with FSTP, I was a postdoctoral fellow with no industry experience. The role of an MSL sounded exciting and fit with my interests, but I didn’t fully grasp what the job was. I also got discouraged early on after reading about the requirements to have industry experience, or an M.D./Pharm.D degree. The FSTP course quickly got me up to speed with understanding the role of an MSL, drug lifecycle, internal stakeholders, KOLs, and other aspects of pharma industry. Importantly, FSTP helped me to get my resume industry ready, and to prepare for the interview process. The MSL academy was crucial to help me learn about common interview questions, and how to prepare a proper MSL presentation. Each step of the way, the FSTP team were helpful in getting me prepared and were in contact with me to see how I did. As an added bonus, everyone I interviewed with asked me about the course, and were impressed by my knowledge and commitment to go the extra mile. I believe listing this course on my resume helped me get noticed early on. Getting an MSL job does take a lot of work and must come from you to get it done. However, the FSTP course gives you all the tools to succeed."

"After a few years in academia, I came to the realization that basic research was not for me. Instead, I discovered that the MSL role was where I belonged because it would allow me to pursue my fascination for science and medicine, as well as my interest in improving healthcare. “from SCIENCE to PHARMA” was a valuable tool that helped me reach my goal of becoming an MSL. Their e-training platform doesn't just provide a comprehensive course to help job seekers understand the pharma industry, it also provides you with an opportunity to discuss with their team of experienced MSLs. They were always very approachable and always willing to offer valuable insights into the pharma world based on his previous experiences! This course is a great first step for anyone, especially those looking to make the transition from academia to pharma. On a side note, I am proud to be “from SCIENCE to PHARMA” first Canadian placed in an MSL role!”

"from SCIENCE to PHARMA” (FSTP) was an amazing primer into the day to day activities, and long-term strategy of the MSL world. The course itself is full of carefully curated resources, and the FSTP team were a tremendous resource in preparing for my interviews. (Thank you FSTP for the talk through of my presentation strategy. You helped me ask all of the right questions, that led me to design a more targeted, and specific presentation) Also you really pulled aside the curtain, and answered some subtle questions about pharma regulations, and the MSL interview process) I am happy to report that I have been loving my MSL role at Sunovion for about 8 months! -A genuine thank you to the FSTP team!

"Prior to taking the course from FSTP, I was a recent PharmD graduate with no direct experience in industry. I had connected with MSLs through my various career roles, but knew I needed to learn about the role of an MSL in greater detail. I took the course at my own pace, and really took my time watching each module. After completing the course, I truly felt knowledgeable on the skill sets necessary to be successful as an MSL. I obtained my first MSL role several months after completing FSTP. Taking this course helped me to prepare for all of the questions I was asked and to give a successful presentation. The FSTP team were extremely helpful throughout the entire process. As soon as I found out about my interview, they set up a phone call with one of the coaches and they helped to prepare me even more for my live interview. I am truly grateful for everyone at FSTP for all of their help in obtaining my dream job as an MSL. The FSTP training gets you prepared for MSL interviews - as if you were an experienced MSL! Different from other training platforms, FSTP was very helpful to set up phone coaching sessions whenever I needed advice and tips before interviews or just as a follow-up. "The FSTP training course is extremely helpful for career transition. It opens up many career paths in the clinical and medical affairs field. The training covers specific and relevant topics for MSL responsibilities and absolute essentials in the clinical research profession. The content comes directly from the experts in the field. It not just helps to build necessary skills but also gives clear direction on CV and LinkedIn page update, applications, interview structure, and interview preparations. The FSTP team supports the preparation for each of their candidates, even providing one-on-one calls for interview preparation. In my experience, overall, the training helps candidates to be prepared and be confident for the transition within a comparatively short period of time, which would not be possible otherwise. The clarity of direction for each stage of transition starting from building relevant skills, writing CV, to getting and passing the interviews is the core value the training provides. It has helped me to build skills in specific therapeutic areas not just by reading/hearing the content but also by taking exams to be assured about the progress. It provides a Board-Certified MSL (BC-MSL) certification which helps to stand out among many applications the recruiters/hiring managers receive. For the interview preparations, the training provides detailed structure and gives real examples of clinical research presentations. It opens up multiple interview opportunities and increases chances of getting hired. I highly recommend the training to everyone who is interested in transitioning to MSL roles and other clinical research and medical affairs roles. I have successfully transitioned within 6 months of the training, and I am extremely grateful to the FSTP team for their efforts to put such an effective course together and their support."

"I am an Pharm D graduate with no experience in any job field. The role of an MSL sounded exciting and fits my interests. But I had a lot of doubts inside me and also got discouraged by many people that it’s difficult to get an MSL job without any experience. I learned about the FSTP MSL program while I was interacting with MSLs through LinkedIn. And joining this course is the best decision I have taken to get my first job as MSL at Bayer. Most of my interview questions were based on this course. Because interviewers were surprised to know that I took an extra step to prepare myself as an MSL. That was one of my plus points. I joined this course in May 2022 and I got the job in September This program helped me to prepare myself as an MSL. It includes everything. Starting from MSL cv preparation to attending every stage of the interviews. While attending the course I feel like I’m an MSL. The best thing about this course is the 1:1 coaching calls. The FSTP team genuinely wants us to get this job. The time I spent during their calls was the inevitable part that helped me to pass the interviews. They are experienced MSLs and they know what the interviewer is really looking for in a candidate. I don’t have enough words to thank my coaches. I’m really grateful for their time during coaching calls and for responding to my emails. They cleared all my doubts and patiently answered all my queries. Many thanks to every FSTP team member for all their amazing work and contribution. I highly recommend this FSTP MSL training course to anyone who genuinely wants to become MSL. Thank you, everyone."

My interviewers for the MSL role were pretty surprised by my knowledge of the role and the industry and commented that I performed very well in the interview. I have also obtained a job offer and am really excited to embark on this new journey! I would really like to thank and appreciate the FSTP team for this privilege and their continuous support."

"I had spent about 5 years in pre-clinical and clinical research jobs and was exploring options to move out of research world in the CRO side to a role which is closer to commercial in pharmaceutical world yet not missing out on science- I realized medical science liaison was the right fit for me. I networked quite a bit in Singapore market and tried to speak the right language, however, it was a tough one to crack. The job market was quite competitive and stepping into a medical affairs role without prior experience seemed close to impossible. While I was networking, I was continuously learning about day-to-day activities managed by the medical affairs team, which I noticed varied from one pharma to another and based on the life cycle of the product. The FSTP trainings was very crucial to improve my knowledge and understand strategically what is essential to be successful in this MSL role. I learnt about key jargons and activities prior to launching a product to actual launch once a key trial is readout, how do we share data with key stakeholders (both internal and external) and how to manoeuvre scientific exchange to ensure that HCPs respect the value-add we bring to the table. I highly recommend FSTP training modules for all those aspiring to move into the medical affairs world. This is the right time! Invest in your learning- you will not regret it!"

"My experience with FSTP and the coaches has been excellent. As someone who went through their PhD and postdoc with a lot of self doubt and very little experience in the industry world, FSTP was able to fill in the gaps I needed and build the confidence that is required to do well in the interviews and ultimately become MSLs. The coaches are very experienced in his field, and having 1:1 discussions with them to improve your interview and knowledge skills was essential for landing my first MSL role. To all those who feel like their PhD is not worth anything: remember you have a unique skill set that many people in pharma do not have. While it may seem like an impossible wall to scale at first, FSTP and the team will provide you with the necessary tools to help climb that wall, and show you how to use your PhD to your advantage."

"When I first came across the Medical Science Liaison role, I was intrigued by it and wanted to work in that role, but had no idea how to get there. Thankfully, the FSTP Platinum MSL course helped me make an extremely smooth transition. The course is carefully structured to give you a detailed understanding of the roles and responsibilities that an MSL position entails. The relentless efforts by the team in helping me craft an industry-ready CV certainly needs a shout out, without which, getting past the initial HR screening rounds of an MSL interview would have been impossible.
What helped me most was the personal mentoring and coaching sessions by the FSTP team which allowed me to clear the subsequent interview rounds. They shared some of their personal experiences in the MSL/Medical Affairs field, giving me more insight for this amazing MSL role. The best part was that the team took a personalized approach in making sure that I succeeded, and having that support was a huge factor in boosting my confidence. The prompt responses, noteworthy feedbacks and personal coaching by the entire team is commendable, and in my opinion essential.
I recommend the FSTP MSL course to anyone who aspires to be an MSL. Should you have any questions about the course or the MSL role, please do not hesitate to reach out to me on LinkedIn."

"The Medical Affairs department is well and truly becoming the third strategic pillar of the healthcare sector. I was attracted to the MSL role as a product of my educational background and experience in the pharmaceutical industry. However, I was unable to represent myself as a promising MSL candidate. In my meetings with the FSTP team, they helped me articulate my transferable skills , strengths and MSL like experience in a very effective manner leading me into an 'MSL mindset ' . This has helped me in embracing the 'scientific exchange' model while staying commercially aware. The FSTP program design is clear, concise and impactful. It has given me a highly developed perspective of the MSL role and broader shared goals in the process of drug development from bench-to-bedside. Flexible format of the course makes it very attractive for busy working professionals who are keen to upskill at their own pace. The FSTP team’s willingness to help with queries and generosity in feedback gave me an edge with my preparation. For anyone who is keen to make their career as an MSL, this course is a must have in their training tool kit."

“This course has simply been indispensable for my journey from academia towards beating the competition and landing two MSL offers from two different companies at the same time. With the in-depth training, phone coaching and the Fast Fact Handbooks (a must have) provided by this course, I was able to upskill myself in two different TAs within a very short amount of time, nailing both interviews with high confidence resulting in a highly competitive salary. This course is simply fantastic with its thorough training materials, coaching and guidance, that is not only crucial to ensure success at beating the competition for an MSL role but also a lifelong resource/training, providing new MSLs the platform to hit the ground running!"

"The FSTP training on how to become MSL, has provided me with deep insights about the MSL career such as role and responsibilities of MSL. Through this course I was able to identify the right career path based on my interest and relevant skill set. I am glad that after struggling for almost a year the moment I joined FSTP training, I caught the attention of many medical managers and directors and was shortlisted for 5 interviews and received an offer of my dream job MSL. I can’t wait to start. Thank you so much for initiating this course. I am short of words to thank."

"The FSTP platinum package provided me with everything I needed to take the big career step from medical research to Medical Science Liaison. Before taking the course, I felt like an outsider but by completion the FSTP course I felt MSL-ready. The package included video tutorials that really put me in the shoes of an MSL, helping me to decide that this was a suitable career move, and prepared me with all the right talking points for that first interview. I had access to excellent examples of resumes from previous candidates that have successfully broken into the field - and excellent pointers on how to let my own attributes shine in a way that is relevant to the MSL role. The examples of clinical paper presentations from real-life MSL job interviews, and literature packages boosted my knowledge in the specific therapeutic areas I was interested in pursuing. Most importantly, my telephone training sessions with the FSTP medical affairs team left me feeling confident and prepared for the interview process. Thanks FSTP!"

“If you are an individual with no prior pharmaceutical industry experience, but truly determined to make a career change into Medical Affairs, the FSTP Global Training course is your go-to-answer. As a medical scientist with over 10 years of academic career in cancer research, FSTP was instrumental in bridging the gap in industry experience via providing a holistic overview of Medical Affairs as well as specific responsibilities of MSL throughout different stages of product life cycle. Importantly, the platinum membership provides an in-depth database of information that better prepares you for CV and interviews and helps you how to cleverly showcase transferrable skills tailored to your prior work experience. The friendly FSTP team also provides an outstanding support and coaching throughout your application process, such as reviewing CV, interviews and clinical paper presentation, all of which propels you further and stand out from the rest. In summary, one thing is for sure, and that is I couldn’t have got my first MSL position without FSTP online course. Prepare, prepare and prepare! Keep trying. Best of luck everyone!!!"

''If you are looking to become an MSL then this is the right course for you. FSTP offers a comprehensive MSL course that not only outlines what it means to be an MSL but also how to become an MSL. It provided me with in-depth knowledge of what the day-to-day role of an MSL looks like and included many valuable resources to upskill myself for the MSL interviews. I really owe my success in landing my first MSL role to the FTSP team. I highly recommend getting a package that includes the phone coaching as I found this to be extreme valuable.''

"I am a medical doctor from India with the PhD in molecular biomedicine from Germany. While working as a post doc, I was looking for an opportunity to enter a field where I could apply clinical as well as scientific knowledge. Medical Science Liaison and Medical advisor roles looked promising and I wanted to venture into the field of Medical affairs. Having no previous experience was a point of concern. This MSL training course from FTSP, helped me immensely to understand the medical affairs field. It had very structured lectures, helping me to understand the nature of work, the terminologies used in the field and the real world experiences from the FSTP team. They also helped me in the review process of my CV. The course will make you well prepared for the interview. The FSTP team is well approachable and I strongly recommend this course to anyone wanting to enter the field of medical affairs.

The MSL course by FSTP helped me to understand the MSL role and the tutoring by the FSTP team guided me on how to prepare for the MSL interview. During the one-on-one phone coaching, the team shared all the real life tricks to follow during the clinical paper presentation. "I was in the medical research sector for about 10 years doing well, but had this urge of thinking outside the box and to do something that is patient-focused with tangible benefits for the patient and healthcare systems. The FSTP MSL course materials were excellent in helping me to get ready; the training videos made it a more intimate training format; it made me stand out in the recruitment process and the personal phone coaching and mentoring approach gave me that extra edge to be successful in my interviews. This testimonial would be incomplete without saying that it was my  best career decision and I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in breaking into the MSL role."

"FSTP is an excellent MSL training platform that helped me to explore what the MSL role is about, and most importantly how to make my CV and LinkedIn profile to stand out and be seen by recruiters and Pharma companies and helped me land my first MSL job. What I found most helpful was learning from the MSL training videos, from the MSL excellence test, and from “how to prepare yourself for an interview” training. Before the FSTP training, I think I have sent too many CVs that were not industry ready. But the FSTP training was the first step I took to really make a change and getting an opportunity as an aspiring MSL. After getting the MSL job the learning continues, but you know that there would always be more MSL resource to look out for on the FSTP platform."

“Many scientists want to break into the pharmaceutical industry, but very often the nature of the roles within industry, as well as the process for transitioning into these roles, is not taught, or even known within academic institutes. I come from a strong immunology research background but always knew that I wanted to move into industry with my knowledge and skills. My mentor and supervisor recommended that I investigate the MSL training program “from SCIENCE to Pharma” (FSTP). I enrolled, and a new world opened up to me. The course gave me a very clear understanding of the MSL role, how to prepare my CV and interact with recruitment agencies, and of course, how to prepare for the MSL interviews. Within 3 months of applying I was very fortunate to receive my first MSL position in a new therapeutic area. The course has helped me hit the ground running and has helped me to build relationships with KOLs and internal stakeholders. Thank you very much to the “from SCIENCE to Pharma” team!”

The MSL role really interested me as it was an opportunity where I could use my current skill set in a different manner but still stay with the science. FSTP was a way to really understand what being an MSL was about. My BC-MSLcert was also evidence to potential employers I was willing to go the extra step to upskill myself and become a more competitive candidate. "MSL roles are becoming increasingly demanding with the advent of new and complicated drugs from small and big pharmaceutical companies worldwide. The FSTP course for MSL training is a great online platform for freshers like myself to land their first MSL role. In a super competitive job market like Singapore, it is quite challenging to successfully convert into these roles without having prior MSL experience. The FSTP MSL course gives a very comprehensive idea about the role of MSLs in a pharmaceutical company, product lifecycle and the different functions of this industry. This information helped me to be confident enough and build up my knowledge and understanding which in turn helped me succeed at the MSL interviews."

"The ‘from SCIENCE to PHARMA’ online platform was instrumental in obtaining my first MSL role at Janssen (pharmaceutical companies of J&J) and I seriously can’t recommend the Platinum course enough. I was a medical researcher with over 10 years of clinical and scientific expertise in oncology, but despite my strong knowledge and work in big Universities/Research Centers in France/US/Australia, I had no industry experience. I knew that the competition for MSL jobs was fierce. I would never have succeeded so rapidly without FSTP. FSTP gives you all the tools to get a deep understanding of the MSL role within the pharmaceutical industry, to speak the “jargon” of Medical affairs and to capture your transferable skills and competencies in a concise industry CV. FSTP also provides crucial tools to optimally prepare the numerous (and challenging!!) interviews. Importantly, the FSTP team is present to help you all the way, providing feedback on your CV, coaching you for the phone call/face-to-face interviews and the clinical paper presentation. The team is friendly, always available and supportive and constantly provide fruitful feedback. I sent my CV and secured my first MSL job within less than 2 months. So now: Subscribe to FSTP, read and study carefully, send your CV and be absolutely prepared to answer the behavioral questions! Good luck, it is absolutely worth it!"

"I have completed the MSL training course by “from SCIENCE to PHARMA”recently and I can only have praise for the level of detail and knowledge imparted by FSTP. Even prior to this course, they had helped me gain an understanding of an MSL position. I have read books regarding MSL positions and "how to get an MSL position" but it didn't provide the personal knowledge and anywhere near the level of detail that the MSL course provides. FSTP has helped me get a better understanding of my own personal skillset and where I can improve on, something I believe will be immensely useful regardless of the career path I choose.”

"The ‘from SCIENCE to PHARMA’ Platinum course is, without doubt, one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was an oncology researcher in academia with no industry experience and, despite wanting to become an MSL, my initial attempts to find a position were unsuccessful, mainly because I did not have a good enough understanding of the role. FSTP changed all of that and gave me the tools to stand out among other MSL candidates and succeed! The FSTP team is very approachable, extremely knowledgeable, exceptional mentors and have a natural flair for building rapport with their students. For me, a huge positive of the course is the way it delivers a large amount of dense information in a well-paced, conversational style that is readily digestible. But even more than that, the educational content of the course is full of real-world experiences of working as an MSL across a variety of scenarios, that nicely illustrate the practical application of what you have learned. Through our telephone coaching sessions, they quickly identified my strengths, as well as areas for improvement, they worked with me to address knowledge gaps, and helped to navigate the interview process with professionalism. They make themselves available at short notice, are very generous with their time and are quick in providing feedback. Like any self-learning experience, with FSTP you get out what you put in. It became obvious to me that to succeed, it is essential to not only assimilate the content of the training videos, but to also commit to the recommended tasks… and write out those behavioral questions and answers well in advance of your interview! FSTP has had a transformational impact on my grasp of the MSL role, and they have my highest recommendation. With their guidance, I secured my first MSL position with Janssen just a couple of months after completing the FSTP course. Thank you FSTP team!”

“The ‘from SCIENCE to PHARMA” course is essential for anyone who is considering the transition into the MSL role from an academic background. The course covers important information pertaining not only to the MSL role itself, but also the pipelines within the pharmaceutical industry. Important discussion points include how you can increase your chance of standing out in the recruitment process and how to prepare for the different interview stages. As someone who had been thinking about making this transition for a long time, this course provided a strong knowledge base for me to build on. Beyond the course itself, there is work required on your end to move forward - but with the FSTP team’s guidance and encouragement you will not feel lost. They are dedicated in helping you break into pharma and are generous with their time in discussing how to best get you there. This course and the mentorship by the FSTP team has been key in securing my MSL role. “For all aspiring MSLs out there, FSTP is a must-do course if you would like to better understand the role and standout from the crowd during interviews. The FSTP team's coaching style is patient, supportive and professional. My favorite part is definitely one-on-one coaching for the role-play interview round, I found the FSTP team's industry insight and constructive feedback particularly helpful. I continue to benefit from the knowledge gained during this course as I started my first MSL role recently. Last but not least, sure, the coaching fee might not be cheap, but if you truly believe MSL is ultimately what you'd like to be, then it's worth the investment!

“After six months, I landed my first MSL oncology job at Eisai. I had clinical medicine education and research experience in oncology, but had zero industry experience. The FSTP online MSL course really helped me in the interview preparations in many ways. It not only gave me a comprehensive insight of what MSL do from an insider, but also impacted the way of my thinking when structuring my CV, approaching the recruiters and having the MSL interview at the pharmaceutical company. During the interview, the company clearly showed an interest in the FSTP course and this gave me an advantage to show off my knowledge of what I've learnt during the course. Better yet, I managed to negotiate my salary up using the salary survey result published on the website. I sincerely recommend anyone who is interested in an MSL career to check the FSTP course. "Moving from academia to pharma can be challenging as pharmaceutical industries may prefer to recruit people with industry experience. My academic and professional background includes a PhD in Pharmacology and 10 years of post-doctoral experience in cardiovascular research. Even with a competitive academic CV and many years of experience in research, finding a position in pharma was challenging at first. To overcome this challenge, I enrolled in the MSL training program “from SCIENCE to Pharma” (FSTP) which was suggested to me by a friend who had a similar academic background to myself, and who found an MSL position in a large pharmaceutical industry quickly after taking this course. The FSTP course positively impacted every step of my MSL job search; from CV preparation all the way to signing the MSL contract 3 months later. The course is very comprehensive and complete. I learned valuable information about the MSL role, the pharmaceutical industry, the different stakeholders, how to best interact with the key opinion leaders, how to stay connected and most importantly the course helped me shape my CV and prepare for the series of MSL interviews. This course has been a great investment for me in obtaining an MSL job in pharma and has really been a turning point moving from science to pharma. From our first introductory coaching session where the coach advised me on improving my CV, to the coaching sessions to help me prepare for the different selection processes that I was involved. I talked with several MSLs and MAs about the role, but I felt I needed a bit more information about all expects of the role. The FSTP course exactly provided this information. "The main take away message, is that I would join FSTP again if I have to do it again. FSTP and the team have been very present throughout my journey. The studying material offered on the website depicts a clear picture of the key arguments to understand the work in the Medical Department, particularly as an MSL. Nevertheless, it is their human value and their professionalism that represents their real strong suit. How the job interview goes depends greatly on your core preparation and persona and it is always your own decision how much you want to invest in it, regardless of any external help. It was my dream to become an MSL, but I did not know how to reach that goal. "I knew I wanted to transition into the pharmaceutical industry and felt that the MSL role had all the characteristics that I enjoyed most during my academic career. I got lucky and was invited for an MSL phone interview that I failed based one important question that invalidated my perfect interview performance - “What do you think you’ll be doing as an MSL?”. I then signed up for the online MSL training program from FSTP and quickly landed my first MSL position in big pharma at Pfizer. Not only did the FSTP MSL course help me to better understand the MSL role, the drug lifecycle, stakeholders involved and other aspects for me to ace that same question this time around, the course also confirmed that this role was where my interest truly lies and got me more excited about the MSL position. In addition, the FSTP Board-Certificate helped me to stand out from the crowd (many interviewers were curious about the course). Finally, you can always go back to the online material and approach the FSTP team for any help. Getting your first MSL job takes a lot of preparation, but FSTP is there for you."

“If you want an MSL role, be an MSL - that’s the take-home message. But being an MSL isn’t that easy when you are trying to transition from academia. The FSTP MSL course gave me a thorough understanding of what it takes to be an MSL and about the medical affairs function. This course provides you what is relevant for you as an aspiring MSL. The website is filled with tools and information to upskill yourself about  the MSL roles both in theory and practice (responsibilities, challenges, therapeutic area etc.)  In addition, the FSTP team is highly experienced, very helpful and keen to give you any piece of advice when needed. Completing this course was a wise choice and I’d recommend anyone who wish to break into an MSL role, without any prior industry experience, to do the same as I did.”

"With a Master of Physics degree and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering for Oncology, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go with my career. The one thing I was certain on was that I was not going to stay in academia. Once I had discovered the MSL role and decided I wanted to pursue a career as an MSL, FSTP became a really valuable resource for me. The content helped me have a much deeper understanding of the role and the support with writing and perfecting my CV was invaluable. The added bonus of being able to talk with an experienced MSL professional over the phone meant that I felt much more confident and ready for my interviews, and is something I would definitely recommend. All in all, the course was well worth the investment!"

"Towards the end of my Ph.D. career, a redundant question was waving in my mind: what's next?  After screening all the roles in Pharma, I figured out what would be my dream job: MSL. That day marked the beginning of a challenging MSL job-seeking journey, which would not have been the same without the help of the From Science to Pharma (FSTP) training platform. Transitioning from academy to industry is anything but easy. The first obstacle I faced was the lack of experience. Thanks to the series of clear videos offered in FSTP, I could immediately grasp the MSL role's true essence. This, in turn, provided me with the self-confidence needed to pass the first interview role. The second struggle I experienced was the lack of medical background. Thanks to the numerous examples of clinical paper presentations available on the FSTP website, as well as plenty of bio-statistics explanations, I could prepare myself quickly and efficiently for the second interview round.  Not to mention the enormous help I got from the FSTP team, always ready to help with any question, patiently and kindly.  I eventually got the job within 5monts of starting the training, and I was the happiest person on this planet. Thank you, FSTP!"

The clarity and depth of the training modules provided me with a clear understanding of the MSL role and helped identify areas of personal improvement that I could target to enhance my chances. It gave me tools and insights that proved essentials during my job search and interview."

"The MSL course by FSTP is one of a kind. After several years in translational research, I was looking for a way to transition into industry and find a position on the borderlands of science and clinical application. I knew the MSL job was what I was looking for, but was unsuccessful in breaking into the role myself. For me, the most important point about the FSTP course is that it helped me change my mindset; from hyper-specialized research-minded to broad-vision clinical translation. Also, you learn everything there is to know about the role, the industry, clinical trials, compound lifecycle, internal workings of a Pharma company, etc - it truly gets you up to speed. Additionally, FSTP provides excellent resources and coaching for interview rounds and tailoring your industry CV - things you really do not know how to do successfully as a scientist, since science and pharma job-searches are completely different worlds altogether. When I landed my first MSL job following the course, my hiring manager mentioned it was not only my scientific background and translational knowledge but also my sound preparation on the MSL role that brought on the job offer. Once again: many thanks to FSTP and their team for coaching me in such a way that I could discover my own path, skills and strengths on the road from science to Pharma. I absolutely recommend this course to anyone who wishes to transition from science, medicine, or pharmacy to the MSL role!”

"Halfway through my PhD I knew that although science was my passion I didn't want to pursue a career in research. I started to search for my next possible step, that would allow me to stay connected to science, but more on a clinical side to have a real impact on patient’s lives. The MSL role seemed like the perfect fit for me, I applied for several jobs but not having any pharma experience was a real setback and I finally got a different job as a product specialist, never forgetting what my real goal was. On November 2019 I decided to enroll on the the MSL global online training from SCIENCE to PHARMA and it was the best decision I have ever made. All of the knowledge and the inside tips are really helpful, and I cannot thank the FSTP team enough for all of the help, the prep calls before my interviews and asking me every step of the way how was the process going. That being said, I will start my first MSL job the 1st of April 2020, only a few months after starting the course, and I can say that the MSL global online training was crucial and I highly recommend it. I started with the silver package but quickly upgraded it to the platinum package and I can say that all of the resources are worth it."

"I gained an MSL position after graduating from my PhD with zero experience in the pharma industry, all thanks to 'from SCIENCE to PHARMA'. The detail of the course was instrumental for me in learning how the industry works, the role of the different stakeholders and where the MSL fits into the landscape. The team was immensely helpful with the preparation for my interviews, offering personalised feedback and support throughout the whole process. I would recommend FSTP to anyone looking to start a job as a medical science liaison, anywhere in the world. Thanks again! James"

"Yes!! Landed my first position in big pharma, not in the least thanks to the FSTP course. I wanted to become an MSL, but how to break into Pharma? from SCIENCE to PHARMA, as the name says, was a great start and very accommodating! The instruction videos teach you the basics, the language you need to speak and how to prepare for the interviews. This is all very instrumental and necessary to make a successful transition. The certificate generates visibility and gives you an advantage over the competition, I even mentioned the course in my interviews, the interviewers were impressed to say the least. After completion of this course, I had a phone call with the FSTP team, in order to discuss what to do when two companies at the same time offer you a position. The team is very approachable, instructive and knowledgeable. November 19th 2018, I will start as Medical Advisor Anesthesia for MSD/Merck&Co in the Netherlands. In the end, you need to do it yourself; but the FSTP course sure is a great start and excellent fundament!"

"The FSTP team are experienced scientists and dedicated, open and very kind people. They helped me leverage & emphasize my scientific expertise to break into an MSL position without having any prior experience in the field and in a country where MDs are the norm for MSLs positions. They encouraged me and gave me a lot of useful tips to win my assessment & gain confidence! It was a real pleasure to meet them & I'm very thankful :) I'm also very admirative of their initiative to create "from SCIENCE to PHARMA". I think that PhDs are not at all assessed on their true added value especially in France & employers in pharma are usually hesitant towards their candidatures! That's why the argumentation and convincing can be sometimes tough! I definitively recommend FSTP!”

"I always wanted to work in the pharmaceutical industry which is why I studied pharmacy and afterward I pursued my PhD. I think it was during my first year of my PhD that FSTP contacted me about the MSL role and their free MSL webinar. Before this webinar I had never heard of the MSL role as a career option. I attended the FSTP MSL webinar and it opened my eyes to the role and that of medical affairs. I decided to start the FSTP MSL training in August and learned everything I needed to know about the MSL role. Within 4months I was hired as an MSL manager. So, thank you for sending that initial information into my LinkedIn inbox about the free MSL webinar (and the MSL training platform) that day as it steered my career into a new and exciting direction. I would highly recommend the FSTP MSL training for pharmacists and PhDs who want to transition into an MSL role."

More importantly, the information detailed in this course is very valuable and showing what I have learned during my interviews left a very good impression on the recruiters. "The FSTP-team was always available when I needed assistance and it’s been heart-warming to feel the coaches’ genuine excitement when their candidates do well. I started the FSTP course in Mid-April. This course gave me a thorough understanding of what the main tasks of an MSL are in theory as well as in practice. I was so impressed by the wealth of information on the training site on what the MSL job entails and how you should approach MSL vacancies, that I signed up for the personal coaching as well. My coach really took the time to get to know me and find out how to emphasize certain aspects of me that matter for the MSL role which I didn’t think of. For the clinical paper presentation round he gave me very practical advice on how to proceed and discussed this thoroughly until I felt fully prepared for it. And it worked: I started my first MSL position in July, 3.5 months later!"

This course is simply fantastic with its thorough training materials, coaching and guidance, that is not only crucial to ensure success at beating the competition for an MSL role but also a lifelong resource/training, providing new MSLs the platform to hit the ground running!--"

"My good friend recommended the FSTP MSL Course to me in early 2019 when I was in my first year of my postdoc. I didn’t know what an MSL was or did, but I was intrigued. I carved out a specific time each day to listen to the online classes and take notes. I loved the lectures by FSTP; they were concise without leaving out any necessary information. FSTP did a wonderful job setting up this program and I would recommend it to anyone who loves science but feels out of place in the lab. I gained confidence in my knowledge and my role as a science COMMUNICATOR rather than researcher with pipette in hand and I have the FSTP team and this MSL course to thank for it. The company who had paid for my postdoc took me on as an MSL, because I had my board-certification MSL (BC-MSLcert) in hand, and they were impressed!"

I started looking for other possibility and I saw myself as an MSL. The first obstacle I faced in breaking in as an MSL was the lack of experience. The from SCIENCE to PHARMA (FSTP) training platform helped me in understanding the MSL day-to-day activities, product life cycle, and how to develop a strong network of KOLs. The FSTP training enhanced my confidence and helped me in starting a new chapter in my career as an MSL. The team is supportive throughout the training and even after training is completed. "I knew my dream job was to be an MSL and despite all my applications, I was unsuccessful in getting interviews. The FSTP training has been the most important and impactful decision I made in changing my career from Academia to Pharma and to become an MSL. The program is extremely well done and allows you to learn anything you need to know to become an MSL. This program is not only educational, but it also has MSL coaches who help you to prepare and be successful in the interview processes. You learn everything an MSL should know about pharma without having the in-field experience yet. I signed my first contract of MSL 6 months from starting the FSTP MSL training. I will always be grateful to the FSTP team for their precious advices, their enthusiasm and their sincere sympathy during my interview processes and even after, following up with me and with my career. A true Coach!  he FSTP training is the BEST thing you can do to become an MSL, coming with a research and academic background, it was worth every penny.
